Um, Hayden Panettiere is playing Amanda Knox - when did this happen? Yes apparently the actress ? who was out in London last night ? will be starting work on a movie in Rome later this month, in which she?ll be playing ?Foxy Knoxy? (as she was dubbed by the press) who was convicted of the murder a British exchange student Meredith Kercher last year.
In case you?d forgotten Meredith was found brutally murdered in Italy back in 2007 in a flat she shared with Knox, she?d apparently been killed in a ?sex murder? and was found with her throat slashed.
Despite the fact that Knox, who?s in prison in Italy, has launched an appeal against her 25-year sentence the film is still rolling ahead, and Hayden has promised the movie will be made in a very sensitive ?clever? way.
?The way the script is written is very well done, in a way that I don't think anyone is going to have a problem with? Um, except for Meredith?s family maybe?
'It only takes place up until she was convicted? said Hayden. I know her appeal is coming up pretty soon too so it should be interesting to see what is going to happen with that.?
Speaking about when she found out she?d got the role, the former Heroes star added:
'I was floored. I was like, "Are you sure ?" I'm looking forward to it. I'm really excited about it. It's going to be a really tough project to do but it will be good?. I'm so privileged to play the role. It's a really great story and a very controversial one."
Yes it sure is and frankly we?re not even sure how anyone can actually allow this to be made. But we guess we?ll have to wait and see the finished result before we start mouthing off about it.
